517E7577-EBAF-498E-A6F0-A58E5586210EThe word Apex is defined as “The uppermost point”.  So, for example, the summit of a mountain would be the Apex of that mountain.  The highest point. The very tip top of that mountain is the Apex.  People spend between $30,000 – $90,000 to attempt to hike Mount Everest.  The dream for many is to make it to the top of the mountain.  It’s hard to know the exact number but there are said to have been well over 300 deaths in attempt to get to the summit of Everest.  I say that because many have died without having their body found.  So, that number could be quite a bit more.  It’s a thrill and bucket list for so many to stand on that mountain with arms raised in victory looking out over what I could imagine to be one of the most breath taking views.  But, it is there goal to reach that Apex.  They spend months, or even years, preparing the planning for this hike.  The end game is worth it to anyone who attempts this deathly hike.  Reaching the Apex.

As believers, the Apex for us is Christ.  The impossible climb through our humanity and sin to be more like THE Apex of all creation.  The Apex Shepherd.  The God that took on flesh and lived a perfect life.  What a victory to one day stand in the presence of God with arms held high in victory as we take in the very glory of God.  I will never hike Everest.  I have no interest in going into debt to climb something that could end my life.  But, I can shut my eyes and smell the glory of God filling my lungs as I stand before Him face to face.  He is perfect.  He is THE Apex over all creation.  And I want to be like Him.

Guys and gals.  I am not going to talk about virus’ and rioting in this blog.  I am tired of it all today.  So, I am just going to leave you with that image.  Standing in very presence of God with arms held high in victory.  THAT is promised to you.  Just stay the course.  Keep your eyes focused on Him.  He will NOT let you down…..I promise.

“God has not abandoned us any more than he abandoned Job. He never abandons anyone on whom he has set his love; nor does Christ, the good shepherd, ever lose track of his sheep.” — J.I. Packer

Our APEX Shepherd is walking with you and talking with you.  He is pouring His heart into you.  After reading this I want you to close your eyes and just begin to breath heavy.  Imagine you are breathing Him in.  Imagine Him standing right behind you while placing his hand on your back.  He leans over and whispers, “I am here”.  “I am with you”.  “Do not fear”.  And just sit in His presence for a bit.  Maybe raise your hands in victory while worshiping our APEX.  Our savior.  Our perfect shepherd.

“MY sheep hear MY voice, and I know THEM, and THEY follow ME. I give THEM eternal life, and THEY will never perish, and no one will snatch THEM out of MY hand.” John 10:27-28 ESV

Right now we cannot take in His entire Glory.  It’s too powerful for us.  BUT, one day….

one day…..

We will stand in the midst of His complete, perfect Glory with arms held high in victory.  That should always bring us hope.  That should always bring us joy.  We strive for perfection knowing we will sin and mess up.  We will never live a perfect life.  But, He is with us, teaching us, guiding us, loving us and one day we will dance with Him face to face.  One day we will stand at the top with our APEX.  Breathe that promise in.  Allow it to bring peace and joy today.  Here Him now….

“I am here”

“And I love you”
