Forgive the title, but I had to go there!  Our company let us go outside for an hour today to watch the eclipse.  They provided glasses, sun chips, and moon pies.  I remember watching an eclipse when I was little, and I thought it was cool, but MAN is it different now.

It is a whole different ballgame as an adult and as a believer.  Y’all that know me know I am a crier, but I try to keep it in check when I am at work.  Today I am failing.  I just witnessed something wonderful!

I’m reminded of three awesome moments in scripture.  First, before there was light and dark, the Spirit of God, hovered over the waters.  That same Spirit lives in ME!  That same Spirit that breathed life into creation lives in ME!  How awesome is it that the God of the universe lives in US?  Yesterday at Canvas we sang a Canvas Worship original called, “Elohim.”  It really pulled at my heart strings today while I was witnessing the sun and moon He set in orbit!

Later, in the Old Testament after Moses encountered God, his face was shining so bright the people couldn’t even look at him. It makes me wonder if it was like today. I picture him looking dark in comparison to the glory shining off of Him.

Next, I am reminded of another time in scripture where it refers to darkness coming over the land.  When Christ was hanging on the cross for ME, the whole land was in darkness for 3 hours!  It was the middle of the day, but it was as if the earth itself couldn’t deny the weight of that moment.

All these scenes have overwhelmed me today.  The beautiful Creator gave us something beautiful to witness.  It makes me look forward to the day when I see His face!  How much more beautiful the Creator is even than His creation!

I’ll be praising and singing His name for the rest of my life!  May His praise ever be on our lips and may we never lose our wonder!

Basking in the glow,

Ashleigh
