Living & Loving Freely

loveAs I was praying this morning I said out of nowhere, “thank you Lord that you are doing a new thing in the whole body of Christ. You have given us the antidote, shot us with an epi pen!”

We have had a deadly reaction to religion in the body of Christ and it about killed us. When someone has a reaction to something, often times it shuts down things in your body and can close your airways. Religion, ultimately does the same thing! It can shut down the move of the Holy Spirit, gifts and callings and it can hold people in a very dry place. It lets man lead instead of Holy Spirit.

Although, it was always the plan for Jesus to die for us, he was killed by sin and by the religious people. Jesus died so that we would no longer be held captive to sin or religion.

The two commandments Jesus gave in the New Testament was Love God and Love others. When we we truly do both of those things, the other 10 commandments follow. We are free from sin, condemnation and religion, therefore we should not hold others to a standard that has been demolished by the sacrifice of Jesus.

All we are called to do is Love God, love others and form relationships so that in LOVE and HIS timing, we can speak his truth. And sometimes words are not required, we just need to listen and obey the Father.

The world is sometimes better at acceptance and love, more so then the body of Christ. Look at the Super Bowl this year, they made a declaration of Love. Although, they be talking about equality and other things, nonetheless it’s Love and Love comes from and is Jesus! So let’s accept the antidote that Jesus gave and let’s live freely in him and help others to be free.

“For the law of the Spirit of life has set you free in Christ Jesus from the law of sin and death.”
Romans 8:2

“Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.”
2 Corinthians 3:17 ESV

“For freedom Christ has set us free; stand firm therefore, and do not submit again to a yoke of slavery.”
Galatians 5:1 ESV

“Live as people who are free, not using your freedom as a cover-up for evil, but living as servants of God.”
1 Peter 2:16 ESV

“They promise them freedom, but they themselves are slaves of corruption. For whatever overcomes a person, to that he is enslaved.”
2 Peter 2:19 ESV

“His divine power has granted to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of him who called us to his own glory and excellence, by which he has granted to us his precious and very great promises, so that through them you may become partakers of the divine nature, having escaped from the corruption that is in the world because of sinful desire. For this very reason, make every effort to supplement your faith with virtue, and virtue with knowledge, and knowledge with self-control, and self-control with steadfastness, and steadfastness with godliness, and godliness with brotherly affection, and brotherly affection with love. For if these qualities are yours and are increasing, they keep you from being ineffective or unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. For whoever lacks these qualities is so nearsighted that he is blind, having forgotten that he was cleansed from his former sins. Therefore, brothers, be all the more diligent to confirm your calling and election, for if you practice these qualities you will never fall.”
2 Peter 1:3-10 ESV

  1. Thank you so much for this thoughtful and insightful blog! Religion is indeed manmade, whereas true love is our wonderful God. The church has had an unfortunate history of shooting its wounded; this is the exact opposite of what God intended. His desire is that we edify, build one another up and equip so that the world can observe us loving one another, especially because we belong to Him, and let them become hungry for what they do not yet have.
