What If

What if, just what if the mountain that you’ve spoken to, IN FAITH, still doesn’t move?

What you’re standing in  front a body of water that you can’t seem to cross….you step out….and fall right in?

What if the giant you’ve been fighting JUST WON’T FALL?

What if you’ve been praying and asking for healing in your life and…..nothing?

What if you’ve been asking for deliverance from something and well…..the struggle still persists?

What if everything seems to be falling apart and God just seems distant?

Ok, let’s ask a couple more what ifs…..

What if you trust God despite the fact that huge mountain is in your way….God will provide.

What if God doesn’t want you walking on that body of water…God will give you strength to swim.

What if God doesn’t want you fighting the giant alone and wants you to trust He will fight for you….God protects.

What if you trust God with healing even if it doesn’t happen in YOUR timing….God DOES heal.

What if you trusted God with the thorn in your side…praising God in the midst of turmoil is the greatest worship….God delivers.

What if you trust God in the most hopeless moments.  If there is distance it’s not because God’s not there…God is faithful.

Ok…..one more time…

What if….you trusted God with it all?

What if….you trusted God with it all?

What if….you trusted God with it all?

What if….you trusted God with it all?

David was referred to as “a man after God’s own heart”.  Yet, read through the Psalms and see how many times David felt alone, cold and afraid, surrounded, betrayed by God.  There were times that God didn’t answer David exactly the way David wanted God to.  David struggled….in the end….David trusted.

What are you going through right now in life that keeps you from fully trusting God?  What if, just what if you decided to really, fully trust God with all of it.  There ARE things that are bigger than you.  Things that you aren’t going to fully understand.  I don’t understand why God heals some and not others.  I don’t understand how a young teen can die in a car wreck while the drunk driver that hit them just goes on with life.  There’s a lot I don’t understand and never will.  It’s choosing to trust God.  It’s accepting that we will NEVER understand EVERYTHING.  There are things in life we will NOT figure out.  I trust that God is bigger than it all and has it all in His hands.  It’s not for me to understand.  It’s not for YOU to understand.

Proverbs 3:5-6 “  “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.”

My point for this blog is simple……TRUST.  I know it’s easier said than done.  But, it IS a choice we make.  Trust God or don’t trust God.  Examine your heart….(FULL DISCLORUE, when you examine your heart be sure to invite the Holy Spirit  to guide you.  We need HIM to guide us in this.  If you examine your heart without the guidance of the Holy Spirit it WILL get messy.)  Ask the Holy Spirit to show you areas where you lack in trust.  What if…..you trusted God with your life?  Try it out.

As Christians we say the words but don’t really know how to apply things.  Hope.  Love.  Joy.  Peace.  Trust.  We get all excited when we talk about these things but then when it comes to living them we are clueless.  It’s no fairytale.  It get ugly and this is war.  But, these are things we can live in HIM.  Trusting God even in the midst of confusion, battle, heartache, turmoil…etc will produce a heart that cannot be defeated.  Trust God with the things you are going through and I promise you….EVERYTHING WILL BE OK.

  1. Thank you for this blog, Jerod. Keeping our focus and heart straight towards trusting the only ONE that truly can be trusted in all ways and at all times…a necessary, if difficult thing to do in this human walk of ours.
