Friendship

strength in numbersI heard a quote from Mencius recently:  “Friendship is one mind in two bodies.”  I thought to myself, that’s just bible right there!  We are called as followers of Christ to be of one mind.  We are called to set our eyes on things above not things beneath (Colossians 3:2).  I believe that when we do this, when we focus our being on Christ, we are drawn together as the body of Christ.  Instead of focusing on the things of this world, the arguments and views that separate us, if we focus whole-heartedly on the things of God, we will be drawn together in unity.  I don’t believe that we will be as successful in sharing the love of Christ when we are divided.  But how much more will others been drawn to the love that we have, if we are all united?  With all the division going on in the world today and lines being drawn, when we declare who we are for, let us do it together.  Just as iron sharpens iron (Proverbs 27:17), let us sharpen one another and work together to share the gospel with the world around us!

  1. Watching news right now just magnifies that problem, the world is trying so hard to separate us from one another, great thoughts Ash, we do have a higher standard and a higher power to bring us together.
