Guard Your Mind

guarding-your-mindGuard YOUR MIND!!!  CONTROL YOUR THOUGHTS!!

Seems to be what God has been telling me lately. The very minute a thought comes in your head you have the power to entertain it or cast it down.

For instance, just today while speaking to someone on the phone I had the thought of getting rude and calling this person out on the untruth she had just told me. That was the carnal. However, I had to take control of that thought and communicate without causing her to shut down or become defensive in order to truly help her.  You see, we are called to be spiritual minded in every circumstance. Not just when it is convenient or feels good.

2 Corinthians 10 5Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity EVERY thought to the obedience of Christ;

Have you ever notice we are like the Israelites sometimes?  We have our eyes on Canaan, but our minds are back in Egypt.

We have our eyes on Godly living, but too many times our minds stray back to the carnal way of thinking. UGG!

 Philippians 4:7-8 And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

The Israelites spoke one way and thought another.   They talked freedom, but they were still in slavery in their minds.  Sound familiar?

You will continue to long for what you left in Egypt until you change your thinking… until you change your mindset, focus, you will never enter the promise land until you can bring under submission your thoughts.

The Word of God says that we have to be transformed by the renewing of our mind…  Its’ only by our renewed thinking that we can take on and possess the mindset of success that God has called us to have.   Although we change our outward appearances it takes a mental change to open the will of God.

MY FAVORITE VERSE OF ALL TIME

Romans 12:2 2And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

  1. Thank you for this article, Lisa. Sometimes we leave the back door open for the enemy without realizing it. There is a time and a place for everything; what we need to submit to God is the time, method, and form. Reminds me of Joyce Meyer’s book: Battlefield of the Mind.
